World Naked Gardening Day - May 8, 2010

World Naked Gardening Day

The 5th Annual World Naked Gardening Day will be taking place everywhere in the world on May 8, 2010. Gardening naked allows a natural connection with the earth through the soil and the breeze. You don't have to be a naturist to appreciate the sensations associated with naked gardening.

Start small or take on a more ambitious project. It's different when you're nude. Whether you're re-potting a couple of plants on your back porch or you're plowing the back forty acres, you'll enjoy it.

World Naked Gardening Day has received a brief online mention in a blog that's associated with Newsday. You'll need an account to access the entire article, which is located at:

http://www.newsday.com/lifestyle/home-and-garden/garden-detective-1.812029/nude-gardening-1.813110

I'll save you the trouble. Blogger Jessica Damiano stumbled upon the Web site for World Naked Gardening Day, but she can't write the URL (blush, blush), because she's afraid she'd lose her job, "what with Newsday being a family paper and all."

Good grief. For those who are less silly, I'll tell you that the URL is: http://www.wngd.org/ .

Damiano's posting is brief and predictable. It concludes with the obligatory witty remarks about mosquitos and pruning accidents. However, the blog DOES raise awareness incrementally, if only among those few who follow Jessica Damiano's timid commentary. Bloggers feed on one another for material. Perhaps we'll see the topic picked up elsewhere.
