SUBJECT: 11th Annual Cape Cod Beach Cleanup
TO: All Naturists and other concerned individuals
Dear Naturist,
The Naturist Action Committee (NAC) advises you of an important opportunity to participate in the annual cleanup of beaches at Cape Cod National Seashore.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR 11TH ANNUAL CAPE COD BEACH CLEANUP
WHERE Herring Cove Beach - Provincetown, Massachusetts
WHEN Saturday, June 9, 2007, 9:00 AM
The Cape Cod Nudist and Naturist Coalition needs naturists, their friends and anyone else willing to participate in the eleventh annual cleanup of selected beach areas at Cape Cod National Seashore.
PROACTIVE VOLUNTEERISM
For the past ten years, naturists and their supporters from all over the country have gathered to clean up a section of Cape Cod National Seashore. Over the years, we have cleaned up more than 60 miles of beaches and trails and collected more than 30 truckloads of trash.
Although not strictly a part of the coalition, the Naturist Education Foundation (NEF) has historically helped pay for lunches for volunteers. Separately from the coalition, NEF raised funds and donated $1,200 to Cape Cod National Seashore for the purpose of purchasing automatic shutoff shower heads at Herring Cove Beach, where fresh water is in limited supply.
These efforts have all been a part of establishing and maintaining good relations with rangers, managers and other officials of the National Park Service. The cleanups and other projects demonstrate our value to the community and our specific concern for the local environment.
COALITION
The Cape Cod Coalition of Nudists and Naturists is made up of the following organizations:
SUNCHASERS TRAVEL CLUB
THE NATURIST SOCIETY
PILGRIM NATURISTS
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR NUDE RECREATION
AANR-EASTERN REGION
NATURIST ACTION COMMITTEE
A goal of the Coalition is to achieve official recognition for traditionally clothing-optional portions of the beach.
This year, as in several past years, the Naturist Action Committee has helped underwrite a picnic at noon, as a gesture of thanks for the volunteers who participate in the cleanup. Following lunch, volunteers will have a chance to relax on a nearby beach.
A dinner group will assemble at the Seascape Motel in Truro at 5PM.
