Wow! Naked activists in the state of Washington are tremendously creative and prolific! Here's what's happening just this coming weekend:

Saturday, September 23 - 10 AM to 1 PM
Naturist Action Committee's Discovery Park beach cleanup project. This is the third such cleanup of 2006. This time, volunteers will likely be pulling invasive and non-native blackberries.

Organizer (and NAC board member) Mark Storey notes that the City will provide gloves and tools, but anyone who has a favorite pair of heavy work gloves is encouraged to bring them. Mark says, "if yanking blackberries is not your idea of a GREAT way to show the city how ultimately cool naturists can be, you can do other beach cleanup tasks (e.g., the normal litter removal)."

Lunch afterwards behind the Visitor Center (sandwiches, salads, etc.). Also a raffle for items and gift certificates from The Naturist Society.

Mermaid Crossing. An open water swim workout, with boat support. This clothing-optional swim across Lake Washington is a project of Body Freedom Collaborative and FKKayakers, and it's for experienced swimmers only. The route is from O. O. Denny Park in Kirkland to Mathews Beach in Seattle. Meet at O.O. Denny Park.

Sunday, September 24 - 11 AM
A Day at the Beach with the Magnuson Beach Bares and NAC. Bring lunch and a non-alcoholic drink and be prepared for sunbathing and a bit of skinny-dipping in the cool water of Lake Washington. Gather north of the main Swimming Beach at Magnuson Park, south of the off-leash dog area, just off the Lake Shore Promenade. No dogs in this area. No rainout date.
