Western Naturist Gathering
The 2006 Western Naturist Gathering at Laguna del Sol near Wilton, California, was one hot place to be last week. Literally. Temperatures didn't soar into triple digits, they rumbled there like a freight train. From the smaller of the two pools on the grounds of Laguna, you could look at the big clock-face thermometer mounted in the nearby shade and note that its needle was pegged at 120 degrees. Of course the asphalt pavement was sizzling, but as one barefooter discovered, even the grass was hot!
Still, everyone who attended seemed to be having a good time, despite the record heat. Several hardy souls defied the brutal elements and camped in tents throughout the event. Participation in the various scheduled workshops was excellent. Rain or shine, as it did at this year's Eastern and Western events, respectively, The Naturist Society knows how to put on a Gathering.
