Cartoon "nudity" in advertising

This is not an ad for lowermybills.com. And it's sure not an ad for any competitor of Experian Interactive, the litigious company that owns LMB. It's a fair use image from a ubiquitous Internet ad that just happens to feature a naked "potato man" as its main animated character.

Experian spent $4.7 million for online advertising in just one recent month. That's according to TNS Media Inteligence. [No, not that TNS.] So you've probably seen the ad, but on the slim chance you haven't ... Click here to see the entire ad.

In the 30-second online commercial, our naked (but admittedly anatomically challenged) little buddy is shown NIFOC, and then with a drink in his hand on what must be a nude beach. The fact that he needs his bills lowered makes him a nude Everyman.

It's surprising that the media harpies haven't reported Potato Man to the authorities. Maybe they're still apoplectic over the fact that Donald Duck refuses to wear pants.
